pooh bear's pyjamas
i haven't sewn in a hot minute! but luckily my 6th month anniversary gave me a reason to make something for my boyfriend hehe. this is his childhood stuffie and by association my son as well ... heh... i always feel a little bad for him because he looks so sad and i think one underlying reason is because he doesn't have enough clothes to wear! i'd be pretty sad all the time if i had to wear orange too ngl. sooo i decided to upgrade his wardrobe with some pyjamas!

okay so this was my plan and as you might be able to see i was struggling a bit with the measurements sigh. most of my garment-making experience involves human wearers and not stuffed animals so his proportions put me off a little bit . like Mr Bear over here doesn't have shoulders??? which was so confusing like how do i make a button up without shoulders. ? but eventually i figured it out xx
something else i struggled with was patternmaking for the collar - i took online pictures of buildabear pyjama clothes as references but couldn't for the life of me figure out how the collar was done?? after some deep dives i found out that these pyjama collars are called cuban collars and they need some sort of facing on the placket + back collar which was pretty interesting.
i did a little bit of embroidery on the collar facing (juan which is our ship name LOL) and i kinda regret doing it in yellow but i didn't have enough red so whatever it's still cute. anywayyy here's the finished product!! isn't he so lovely!!! i added buttons (after the fitting just in case i needed to make other adjustments first) and now mr pooh looks so snuggly awww
heart bag
this is probably my most used creation! it's made of quilted red gingham cotton with a white cotton lining and adjustable straps ^^ it can't really fit much because of the funny shape lol but it's enough for an umbrella, wallet and water bottle which works for me most of the time! it's actually pretty interesting because i decided to use plastic sheets as interfacing help i can't really remember why i didn't just choose to use normal iron on interfacing but i guess it fulfils the purpose... it was also my first time quilting and it was really fun! it's a very rudimentary version of quilting - i just used normal polyester stuffing and pinned the fabric pieces together but i just adore the effect it looks so good with the gingham too.
bear collage bag
she's not just a bag... she's a bag with a backstory... so i found the stuffed bear around when i was clearing out my room and i felt kinda bad for it cus it's a lil deformed and sad. like i don't wanna throw it away thatd be mean yk so i thought Hm! maybe i could make something with this! for me the most obvious choice was to make a bag lol so i went on pinterest and found some inspiration to get me going yay! i lost the links but you've probably seen similar bags around yup very coquettish and cutiepie. surprisingly i didn't even need to buy any supplies to make this - i just gathered scraps from around the house and took the straps from an old tote bag. oh and the little circle that the bear is sewn to is actually stuffed! so it kinda feels like a cushion :3 unfortunately i didn't really handsew the bear down properly so it kind of detached after a while?? i have yet to repair it bc im lazy but i should probably do it soon
